Proud Mary
It's tough to stand out in a crowd in the streets of Miami, but it seemed pretty effortless for Mary. I'm not sure if it's the yellow vest or the fact that she's beautiful with an amazing smile, but most likely more B than A.
As soon as I asked Mary if I could take her picture, she enthusiastically said yes and went right into pose mode. What was I going to do, ask her NOT to smile? I didn't have the audacity.
Mary and some of her volunteer friends were out collecting and passing out literature for the International Rescue Commitee (rescue.org). Mind you it was 102 outside today. She was passing out literature, I was pretty much passing out. So yeah, I think she does have a lot to be proud of.

Pack Up the Cats
My daughter's last morning in Miami before we hit the road for Tampa, her new home. Couldn't ask for a worse omen as your about to embark on the 4 hour road trip with all her worldly possessions in tow. Glad I didn't go in the yard, because I assume it was full of broken mirrors and open ladders. The trip was tough enough in a torrential downpour that turned a 4 hour drive into 6. But it all, somehow, got done.
Just don't ask me to do it again. I'm too old for this shit.
For the record, I'm sure there were even more black cats. These are just the ones who didn't run away.

Lucia
Lucia is the proprieter at Enriquetas, a staple/institution/"must eat there" in Miami. It's a small place with a VERY rich history and legacy on 29th Street in Miami.
I met her and she graciously let me take her picture today. I left and met my daughter to run errands. When we talked about plans for the next day, she said "you should try this place Enriquetas. That place is ALWAYS slammed but the food is amazing, all home cooked!"
Little did I know where the place was until she showed me a picture of it. I asked her, "is there an older woman with white hair that runs it?" Of course I already knew the answer. Just sometimes funny how things come together like that.

Barry the Bouncer
Barry is the doorman/security at Myami Wynwood, which bills itself as "Miami's only Mexican Fusion Restaurant with a Night Club Vibe". Judging by the entrance, I'd have to say that's probably accurate. From their ads, it looks like late night Saturday night no matter what time you go there. Considering they had people coming in dressed to the nines at 11 am on Sunday, I'll take their word for it.
And if you happen to still have some Ed Hardy gear and don't know what to do with it, Miami seems to be the place for you!

Portrait Without a Name
We were having lunch at Spice Road Table in Epcot, but I obviously picked the wrong seat at the table. I had my back turned throughout lunch and didn't even notice the woman sitting behind me.
Luckily, This woman was pointed out to me with the mention of what a "picture perfect" set up it was. That was absolutely right.
I took some surreptitious shots, but HAD to introduce myself before I left. I asked permission, and she graciously consented. Good for me, because the surreptitious ones just didn't feel right to me.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Well, obviously I didn't shoot this one. But any parent that takes a LOT of pictures knows this feeling. We did not know where the cameras were, and I'm sure this was NOT the entire ride, but the odds of catching a lifetime of my daughter's frustration in a single picture is absolutely priceless to me.
